Digital Account Director

If you have at least three years’ experience of handling digital marketing accounts, you could be our newest digital account director. You’ll have the ability to create strategies that answer clients’ briefs and demonstrate the depth of your digital marketing knowledge.

As a Digital Account Director you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of your accounts, ensuring that we continue to deliver a first-class service and undeniable value to our clients.


  • Building and maintaining relationships with your portfolio of clients, and ensuring that high-standards of service are met at all times, and managing client expectations.
  • Developing and managing the overall strategy for each of your allocated accounts – in line with the client objectives across all digital marketing disciplines.
  • Managing multiple large client accounts at once, and orchestrating the internal teams to deliver work on time and on budget for each one.
  • Developing and presenting new strategies and tactics to improve your clients marketing performance, in line with their business objectives.
  • Ensuring your clients remain profitable by keeping a keen eye on budgets, and making adjustments to delivery where necessary.
  • Working with the Client Services Director, Service Leads, and new business team on new opportunities to bring in new clients or grow existing ones. This will include putting together and presenting multi-service proposals and budgets.
  • Working with the other services across the agency to ensure our clients receive a joined-up and strategic marketing service.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive expertise in organic social media platforms as well as the execution of social media strategies.
  • Mentoring or line managing allocated member(s) of staff if/when required.
  • Identifying and keeping up to date with trends and insights, optimising spend and performance based on the insights.


  • 3+ years experience of managing multi-service client accounts within a marketing agency.
  • A good understanding of paid media and SEO (additional digital/marketing knowledge a benefit). You should be able to talk with confidence about channel performance and the tactics utilized in each channel.
  • Strong communication and presentations skills.
  • Financial and business acumen to understand your clients’ businesses, and be able to run profitable client accounts on behalf of the agency.
  • An understanding of digital marketing tools such as SEMRush, AHrefs and GA4 would be preferable.

Personal Development and progression

We look after our own. That’s why we like to promote from within the agency whenever we can. Several Tank team members have joined as account executives and progressed to be account directors or higher. Depending on their individual skills and passions, we help people create their own career path to suit.

Each person is allocated an annual training budget to develop their skills however they see fit. They also have a mentor to guide and support them, help them meet their training objectives and develop their career path.

We offer dedicated days off for people to pursue their own personal development, such as to attend events, seminars or workshops. Several of us have also completed Women in Leadership training courses, making sure that as many of the team have strong management skills and opportunities.

Tank’s roster of accounts is one of the most diverse of any agency. We’ve deliberately never tried to specialise in one particular industry or sector, and we’re better for it.

Mixing up what we work on from day to day keeps us fresh. From tech companies to restaurants, architects to satellites, it makes each task different.

It also means that team members all work with different people. Between PR, PPC, SEO, digital PR and social media, we all learn and appreciate each other’s craft.

What’s more, our sister creative agency, Warbox, resides in the same building. Although it might be a separate company, the amount of time our teams spend with each other, and the work we do together for shared clients, means you’d be hard pushed to tell.
