Tank draws two back in
Nottingham digital PR agency, Tank, has welcomed back former employees James Watkins and Glen Davies, with James re-joining the agency as its head of digital PR and Glen as content and marketing manager.
James will head up the agency’s digital PR team, expanding its size and developing its capabilities to further exploit its significant headway in the discipline.
He previously worked for Tank between 2015 and 2018, and has since headed up digital PR teams both at various agencies and in-house across the East Midlands.
Glen will manage the content team’s writers in their production of creative copy, as well as taking the lead on the agency’s own marketing and branding.
He was one of the agency’s first employees in 2011, leaving in 2015 to lead PR campaigns at SEO and digital marketing agencies in Leeds.
James said: “It’s great to be back at Tank and to be working with such a talented team of old and new faces.
“Demand for digital PR has never been greater and I’m looking forward to growing and developing this service within an agency with PR and news acumen at its core. We’re already recruiting for two specialists to join this team and I only see this rising further in the next 12 months.”
Glen added: “It feels a little like coming home to Tank. I started my career in PR here after university, and to return now to manage an excellent content team and the agency’s own marketing is a fantastic prospect to get my teeth into.
“It may have grown considerably since I was last here, but so have its skills across many services. I’m looking forward to growing its reputation to match.”
The pair join Tank, which invested £1 million into its own Lace Market office building in 2017, as it is currently recognised as the largest PR agency in the East Midlands, according to the PR Week Global Agency Business Report 2020, where it ranked 147th out of around 10,000 agencies providing PR in the UK.
Commenting on the two appointments, founder and director Trevor Palmer said: “One of Tank’s strengths is its undeniably unique culture, which is born out of our particular talent for recruitment, as opposed to a ‘defined’ culture that is worked towards. James and Glen have each seen how this has evolved at different points and it’s been a key part of what drew them back.
“For past employees to return to any business is a rare thing, and it’s a great asset that they have re-joined to help Tank to achieve the next stage in its growth and development as a digital PR agency working at the highest levels.”
