Tank digs deep to support city farm
Digital PR agency Tank will give Stonebridge City Farm regular marketing support, in a new ongoing partnership with the charity.
Each quarter, the agency will provide the farm with its PR, digital, social media and general consultancy services on a pro bono basis.
Stonebridge City Farm, a popular, free-to-enter visitor attraction, supports over 160 volunteers on site each week, many with a mental health challenge, learning disability or who feel excluded from society.
Donations, grant income and support from local organisations are vital to the operation of the farm which offers volunteers work-based training in animal care, horticulture, food and hygiene, and customer service.
To launch the new partnership, staff at Tank swapped their keyboards for spades and paintbrushes, by taking time out to volunteer at the farm. Three teams clocked up over 130 hours by contributing to the site’s upkeep. Their efforts included painting fences and picnic benches, weeding around footpaths and paddocks, preparing fields for animals and digging new planting areas.
Heather Slater, fundraising and marketing manager at Stonebridge City Farm, said: “We really are so grateful for the support and expertise we’ll receive from Tank, and for the time the team has already given us.
“Input from Tank will provide valuable knowledge of PR, social and digital marketing and will help us spread the message about the great work we do. In turn, it will allow us to secure extra funding for some of the bigger building projects we have planned, to increase the support we can offer to the local community.”
Louise Stewart, team development director at Tank, said: “We’re really excited to be doing more with Stonebridge City Farm, and to be in a position to share our expertise and help to promote a charity that does so much good in the region to a wider audience.”
“Equally, our own team has benefited from getting out from behind their desks doing something physical and spending time outside. Providing additional holiday that can be used for voluntary work is a key part of our people strategy moving forwards.”
